BITE2 Terminal Impedance Mode
The NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) now requires that the contact resistance from the charger connections to the battery terminals are measured. The BITE2 saves measurement data in cell strap combinations. When starting a test the BITE2 will prompt you to measure Cell 1. Starting on cell 1 does not allow for the measurement of the positive charger connection to the terminal.

UPS noise detection using BITE3 and MPQ1000
Not all product demonstrations go as planned. Unforeseen problems can arise, causing the demonstration to go awry. We can either accept this as a failure or use it to create an opportunity.

BITE3 Spectrum analyzer
The BITE3 battery impedance tester comes standard with a built in spectrum analyzer. The spectrum analyzer gives the user the ability to examine the frequency content of the ripple current on their batteries. By examining the ripple frequency the health of the charger can be verified.

Parallel battery strings
Performing ohmic testing on parallel strings:  Parallel strings present a challenge when performing ohmic testing. This is because a parallel battery string has multiple paths for the test current to flow. In a series string the injected test current only has one path, through the battery under test. Since the all the test current goes through the battery under test a proper repeatable measurement is made.

NERC testing
What is NERC? How does it affect my battery maintenance practices? Founded in 1968, NERC was first known as the National Electric Reliability Council. NERC was created   in   response   to   the   1965   blackout,   where   30 million people lost power.

1-500Hz Narrow Band Dielectric Frequency Response
For approximately 25 years, dielectric frequency response (DFR) has been investigated and proven to provide an accurate method of determining both the moisture condition of paper + oil power transformers and bushings. Together with general insulation testing, DFR provides enhanced insulation condition of the transformer under test.
