Megger acquires the North American Diagnostic Laboratory business and InsuLogix® monitoring product line of Weidmann Electrical Technology

Aligned to the company’s business strategy, Megger continues its expansion into on-line monitoring and added-value services for electrical power utilities with this acquisition. Since 1889, the business focus has been to support the electrical supply industry with test and measurement instruments, providing insight to electrical asset performance.  Megger’s investment into on-line measurements further increases its industry relevance for the future.

Weidmann’s highly respected oil analysis laboratory services become part of Megger and will operate under the AVO Diagnostic Services name, further strengthening its ability to offer on-line and off-line asset condition insights to the electrical power industry. The latest generation of the InsuLogix® HMA Dissolved Gas Analyzer (DGA) monitoring system is also acquired, which complements the existing partial discharge asset monitoring technologies offered by Megger.

“We are delighted with this latest addition to our business, and we welcome our new Weidmann colleagues. Megger has served the electrical industry for over 130 years and continues to adapt to the changing needs of our customers for optimal asset and network performance” says Jim Fairbairn, Megger CEO.

The InsuLogix HMA product is currently only available in the North American market, product information is available here:
